Albert “Brainy” Einstein

What most people didn’t know was that, in 1955, as soon as Mr. Einstein breathed his last, his brain was removed from his skull and photographed from multiple angles. Although most of the photographs didn’t stand the test of time, and was either lost or misplaced over the decades. However 14 of these photographs recently came to daylight, and analysis of these photographs reveals what many suspected for a long time: Einstein’s brain (physically), “was better than yours.”

The Florida State University conducted a study of the photographs of the Einstein’s brain, and found that,  at first glance his brain wasn’t that different from an average person’s. The size and shape of his brain is comparable to any of any ordinary human being. However there are certain regions of his brain were different. In scientific terms, “the prefrontal, somatosensory, primary motor, parietal, temporal, and occipital cortices” of Albert Einstein were found to be extraordinary.

In this the prefrontal cortex is the section of the brain which is responsible for abstract thinking and thought analysis which is digests sensory data and helps in making decisions. Hence this is a very strong indicator of intelligence. Analysis of the photos showed that the prefrontal cortex of Eistein was far more complex and had a much greater surface area when compared to any average human being. And they concluded that this is the reason for his “remarkable cognitive abilities”.
